The Neillsville City Council heard the Report of Officers at their meeting on Tuesday.For April 2017, the department had 117 complaints, 57 service calls, 31 traffic citations, 58 traffic warnings, 3 crash investigations, 1 ordinance citation, 15 adult arrests, 4 cases referred to the district attorney’s office, 27 juvenile cases and 7 parking citations. Some other notable itmes included a homicide conference attended by an officer, a possible scam investigated in the city, which proved to be unfounded and a drug investigation that resulted in the arrest of a 24-year-old Neillsville man.
The department also had a lot of calls to the new Transitions home here in Neillsville dealing with juveniles that got out of control or even ran away from the home. The department had a seminar on sex trafficking at Transitions. They also had a meeting with staff there on how to better handle situations that occur at the home as the department has limited resources
