New Batch of Hair Donations from Columbus Catholic Students

(WDLB) -The Pantene Beautiful Lengths real-hair wig program has a new batch of donations, after Columbus Catholic students had their hair cut for the program yesterday.English teacher Mandy Volkman has organized the hair-donation event at Columbus for the past four years. Foreign exchange student Nika Lukjan of Poland had never heard of this kind of program in her country, and was excited to help. 37 Columbus students donated hair this year, bringing the school’s four-year total to 137 donors.
The Pantene Beautiful Lengths program began in July of 2006, and more than 800-thousand ponytails have been donated to date. That's been enough to donate 42-thousand real-hair wigs to the national American Cancer Society Wig Bank, helping serve those in need.
