Car vs. Semi Accident Near Owen-Withee

-On Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 4:01 pm, Clark County Dispatch Center received a 911 call about a Semi vs car crash on STH 29 near River Ave.Owen Withee fire and EMS, Clark County Sheriff’s Deputies, and Owen Police Department were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival on scene a 2010 Mazda driven by 63 year old Robert Thorson of Chippewa Falls was blocking the westbound lane of traffic. The semi was located in the median, which was driven by 41 year old Jason Shoemaker of Wells, Minnesota.
It was reported that the car was traveling westbound and a slower rate, in the right lane. The semi was also traveling westbound and moved to the left lane to pass. The car switched lanes in front of the semi and the semi was unable to stop and collided with the car. Speed nor alcohol was a factor in the crash. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
Robert was extricated from the vehicle and transported to the hospital with non-incapacitating injuries. Jason did not report any injuries. No citations were issued in the crash.
