April Class III Milk Price Released

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -The USDA announced that the April Class III milk price was released at $15.22 per hundredweight.

That's down 59-cents from March's price, but $1.59 above April 2016. So far, the Class III price has averaged $16.00 this year. That's compared to $14.87 for the entire year of 2016. The Class IV component price was 31-cents lower than last month's price at $14.01, but was $1.33 more than April of last year.

Meanwhile, the USDA reported that Wisconsin farmers received an average price of $18.00 per hundredweight for their milk in March. That was $1.00 lower than February's price, but $2.20 higher than the same time a year earlier. The U.S. milk price for March was $17.30 per cwt.
