-The Owen City Council heard about the fireworks for the Owen Jr. Fair at their meeting last week.An Owen Jr. Fair Committee member reported that with the construction going on at Kerry Ingredients, the fireworks show for the Owen Jr. Fair will have to be moved to the bridge on the north side of the Mill Pond. The council approved to allow the fireworks show from the north mill pond bridge using protection to cover the bridge. They council also approved a resolution for the Trail Grant Application.
Finally, the council heard the CDC’s report. Tim Swiggum reported he attended a strong towns seminar in Eau Claire. The TEA-Grant application has been submitted for the Rail for the Heartland Development Project. Bob Kulp is helping in getting tax credits for the Heartland Project which was turned down by the WEDC. The annual CCEDC dinner meeting was held with a nice attendance and Swiggum is working with Xcel and WE Energies making sure of the availability to the Agri-Business Park.
