Marshfield Alderman to Consider Easing Parking Restrictions

Tuesday, May 2nd, 2017 -- 8:03 AM

(WDLB) -Marshfield aldermen will be asked next week to consider easing restrictions on parking in certain areas of the city's downtown.

The proposed changes come from the city's Downtown Parking Team, and their recommendations were endorsed last night by Marshfield's Board of Public Works. City Administrator Steve Barg said the Downtown Parking Team looked at things like time limits and permit parking, dealing with city-owned lots and on-street parking.

If approved by the Common Council next week, the recommended changes in on-street parking would take effect on June First, and the parking lot permit changes would go into effect June 15th. The downtown parking team was created in early 2016, and was made up of six city officials, four downtown business representatives and the Main Street and Marshfield Chamber of Commerce Directors.
