Wisconsin farmers received an average price of $18.00 per hundredweight for their milk in March.
According to the latest USDA Agricultural Prices report, that's $1.00 lower than February's price, but $2.20 higher than the same time a year earlier. The U.S. milk price for March was $17.30 per cwt, 70 cents lower than Wisconsin's and $1.20 below the previous month. With the exception of Florida, all of the 23 major milk producing states had a decrease in price from February to March--with Idaho and California taking the largest hit.
