Loyal Man Charged in Drunk Driving Death Has Bond Lowered

-A Loyal man charged for a snowmobile accident that resulted in the death of his passenger appeared in Clark County Court on Wednesday.According to the Clark County Sheriff’s Department, on Sunday February 12th, they received a 911 call of a snowmobile accident located north east of Catlin Ave/STH 98 in the Township of Sherman. Steven Lauenstein lost control of his snowmobile when they entered a wooded area and his passenger, 34-year-old Robert Kurz, was ejected and died from his injuries.
Lauenstein has been charged with three counts including homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle. The sheriff’s department stated that speed and alcohol appeared to be factors in the accident. During his appearance on Wednesday, his cash bond was lowered from $7,500 to $4,000 with the stipulation that he submit to urine testing five days a week.
