Neillsville Police Department No Longer Offering Non-Emergency Lock-Out Services

-Effective May 1st, the Neillsville Police Department will no longer be providing nonemergency vehicle lock-out services for the general public.They will still respond to all emergency cases such as a child or pet being locked inside but they are discontinuing this as a general service to the public. Neillsville Police Chief Scott Klueckmann is continually evaluating the department operations and always looking at how the department resources are being expended and, unfortunately, the department’s officers are busy handling higher priority criminal cases and those cases must take precedence. Three local businesses provide vehicle lock-out services for a nominal fee: O’Connell Towing & Body Shop (715-743-6789), Gross Motors (715-743-3207) and River Road Auto Body (715-743-3159). Cost for service is between $10-$40 depending on time of day and distance to travel.
The Neillsville Police Department’s Mission Statement is “to work in partnership with the community to prevent crime, solve problems, enhance the quality of life, and provide a safe environment for everyone.” Even though their services must change with the times their commitment to this central mission will never change.
