Prescription Drug Take Back Initiative this Saturday

Monday, April 24th, 2017 -- 11:26 AM

-On April 29th, the Wisconsin Department of Justice will coordinate a Prescription Drug Take Back Initiative throughout Wisconsin.

The Prescription Drug Take-Back Day goal is to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposal of prescription medications, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of these medications. Unused prescription medications in homes create a public health and safety concern, because they can be accidentally ingested, stolen, misused, and abused.

As part of this initiative, the Clark County Prevention Partnership asks that residents join us in disposing their unwanted or unneeded medications at one of the permanent disposal sites located in Clark County. Permanent disposal sites were established as a safe and convenient way for residents to dispose of medications. It is preferred that medications be placed in a clear, sealable bag. Pill bottles are accepted, but it is recommended your private information be removed from the container. Syringes and liquid medications are not accepted at the permanent locations.

Feel free to contact us with questions and/or comments.
