Owen-Withee School Board Discusses Maintenance Projects

-The Owen-Withee School Board discussed some maintenance projects at their meeting last week.A list of maintenance projects, developed by Don Boening, was presented to the board for review. Action on the items on the list was tabled until the Buildings and Grounds Committee could review and prioritize the items. Also, on a voice vote, the board approved moving the start time of the May meeting to 6:00 PM to accommodate the high school band concert scheduled for that evening.
District Administrator Bob Houts also went over the teacher and support staff negotiations. He stated that base wage increases set by the WERC is 1.26% for contracts that begin July 1. Both teacher and support staff negotiations committees will need to meet to plan for negotiating with the union groups. Finally, the Spring Recognition Dinner has been set for May 3rd at the Meadowview Golf Course. This event will recognize years of employment in the district, retirees and Teachers of the Year.
