Granton Village Board Hears Presentation from First Responders

-The Granton Village Board heard a presentation from some first responders at their meeting on Wednesday.According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, Pat Wolf and Bev Friemoth presented first responder information. They discussed the number of hours required to become a first responder, the equipment needed and the how donation money is applied. They also presented a report calls outlining the areas they service. The village donated $500 this year to the first responders. The average donation is $2000. The board also took care of some reorganizational matters due to the recent election. Thomas Gorst was officially sworn in as the Village of Granton president for a two year term. Dean Schmitz was officially sworn in as the Village of Granton Trustee for a two year term.
Finally, the village discussed health insurance options. A representative from Benefit Advisor will be contacted and invited to the next meeting. The City Clerk believes open enrollment will be in October so gathering information now will be a benefit. Information on Health Reimbursement Accounts was presented as an option for paying for health insurance premiums and eligible expenses with pretax dollars.
