Administrators' Reports at Greenwood School Board Meeting

-The Greenwood School Board heard the Administrators’ Reports at their meeting on Monday.District Administrator Todd Felhofer reported on some political items in the state involving schools. He stated that Governor Walker’s proposed budget is taking some criticism and he sent emails to Rep. Bernier and Sen. Moulten asking them to support rural public schools during the budget process. Several bills are being floated around the capitol including referenda restrictions, constitutional carry of guns, transgender bathroom/lockers restrictions, school drug testing, school start date, and changes in the publication of notice of meetings and minutes for school districts and other governmental bodies.
He also stated the Spring School Board election on April 4th had a write-in candidate winner for Area 2 in Mark Shain. Mark received 60 of the 83 eligible write-in ballots cast. Also, a preview of the District Vision/Core Values signs was shared with the board. Signs should arrive within a few weeks. They will be posted in both schools. Finally, DPI Pupil Non-Discrimination Self-Evaluation was provided to the board for review and the District Staff Recognition Event is April 26th at Parkway Pines at 3:45 pm.
