Woman Arrested During Thorp Drug Bust Appears in Clark County Court

-One of the people arrested during a drug bust in Thorp appeared in Clark County Court on Wednesday.Back in February, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Thorp Police Department and the West Central Drug Task Force executed two search warrants in the City of Thorp. The search warrants were executed at 600 North Washington Street and 303 ½ North Church Street. The search warrants were a result of an ongoing drug investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and Thorp Police Department. There were several arrests and a child was placed into protective custody by Clark County Social Services. One of the people arrested was Melinda Blasel.
Blasel appeared in court for a preliminary hearing and arraignment on Wednesday. The preliminary hearing was wavied and she stood mute in court, so a not guilty plea was entered in to the charges against her. However, a plea/sentencing hearing has been set for the end of May.
