Merrillan Woman Sentenced for Shoplifting Incident

-A Merrillan woman arrested after a shoplifting incident in Black River Falls was sentenced in Jackson County Court on Monday.According to authorities, they were called to the Kwik Trip in Black River Falls for reports of a woman shoplifting. Police arrived and found Amanda Peters in the bathroom. She tried to give authorities a fake name, but they identified her by her tattoos. When authorities searched her they also discovered methamphetamine. She was also wanted for other matters in Jackson and Eau Claire Counties.
Peters was found guilty, due to a no contest plea, of possession of methamphetamine. Two other charges were dismissed and read in. She was sentenced to 3 years’ probation with multiple conditions to follow.
