Owen-Withee School Board February 2017 Administrators Reports

The Owen-Withee School Board heard the Administrators’ Reports at their meeting on Wednesday of last week.Jr/Ss High School Dean of Students Julie Van Ark reported that student scheduling for next year is well under way. Parent/Teacher Conferences were held on Wednesday, February 22nd from 4-6 PM. Two students, Martha Gonzalez and Ana Capetillo, will be going to state FBLA in Appleton in early April. Band and Choir students participated in the Solo and Ensemble festival in Greenwood. Finally, the FFA hosted FFA Week the week of February 20th-24th. Several dress up days and contests were held during the week.
District Administrator Bob Houts reported on the professional development day that all district teachers attended at CVTC on February 10. He thanked the Thorp High School for their donation to the Owen-Withee students in remembrance of Will Maki at halftime of the boys’ basketball game last Saturday and he did a quick run through of some the biennium budget items proposed by the governor that will impact education.
