Owen-Withee School Board Discusses Forums and Conventions

-The Owen-Withee School Board discussed some forums and conventions at their meeting last week.Board members Rick Eloranta, Angela Greschner, Charlie Milliren and Kim Amacher indicated that they will be attending the Medford Legislative Forum on Monday, March 6th. Seven of the area legislators have committed to be in attendance at this meeting. Also, the 6 people who attended the WASB Annual Education Convention in Milwaukee in January reported on some of the sessions they attended and some of the speakers they heard. The board also heard the Administrators’ Reports. Elementary Principal Lance Batchelor reported on the Geography Bee, congratulations to Riley Herman on winning the school competition and good luck on the state-qualifying exam.
Damian Nernberger and Quinn Hatlestad won the local spelling bee for their grade levels and will move on to the District spelling bee in Thorp. Spring Photos by LifeTouch were taken on Tuesday, February 21st in the elementary gym. Elementary Parent/Teacher Conference were held after school on Wednesday, February 22nd from 4-6 PM. Child Developments Days for screening next year’s 4K students will occur on Thursday, March 2 and Read Across America will take place the week of February 27th-March 3rd. Finally, Mr. Batchelor reported to the board on the progress students in grades K-3rd are making in respect to the AGR goals set by the school.
