-When Clark County Sheriff’s K-9 Deputy Matthew Prein was busy raising funds for the Clark County-City K-9 Fund; he had no idea when his grandmother, Virginia Rounsaville, passed away in November 2016, she would in an indirect way be contributing to a cause she was so proud to have her grandson dedicated to.When Deputy Prein’s father, Ricci Prein, was growing up, he couldn’t remember a time that the family didn’t have a dog. Virginia loved dogs referring to them as her sons and daughters. That carried on as she always referred to Matthew’s K-9 Rex, as her great-grand dog.
When Virginia passed away, the Prein family members decided to donate the gifts of money received at the services by friends and family to the K-9 fund. On Monday February 13th 2017, the family presented Clark County Sheriff Greg Herrick and Chief Deputy James Hirsch with a check in the amount of $545.00. They then presented it to Deputy Matthew Prein. The family all thought it was a great idea and something ‘Grandma Ginia’ would have wanted to do.
