Owen-Withee School Board Discusses Pay for Summer Meetings
Thursday, February 23rd, 2017 -- 8:00 AM
-The Owen-Withee School board discussed pay for summer meetings at their meeting last week.As part of a “meet and greet” session last fall, the teachers had asked for some kind of remuneration for meetings called by principals that occurred during the summer recess. The board approved a $50 payment, $25 for half day meetings, that occur during the summer that are not used to meet the district’s in-service credit required of all teachers. An annual cap of $3000 has been set for each summer.
The board also reviewed the number of participants and the costs associated with the wrestling program the district shares with Stanley-Boyd. The board approved continuing the COOP program for another two year term. Finally, with the language in state law a bit unclear regarding campaign contributions and filing for exemptions to the reporting requirements, all seven board members completed the Campaign Registration Form including claiming the exemption from filing because they will not spend nor receive more than $2000 for their campaigns during the calendar year.
