Clark County Board of Supervisors Hears Another Plan for Clark County Rehbilitation and Living Center Remodel/Addition

-The Clark County Board of Supervisors heard another possibility for a needed upgrade at the Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center on Monday.The board began by hearing a power point presentation regarding what the project would like in regards to the remodel and additions to the center. They also saw cost at various levels of the project depending on what was done and an example of what the rooms and areas would look like after the project is completed. They also went through a list of concerns that were brought up at various meetings and answers to those questions. Some examples include is the building sound and worth remodeling; is there asbestos; how many rooms will there be; how much would it cost to remodel the entire building, etc.
Finally, the board saw a draft resolution should this project get that far. Clark County would borrow $7,500,000 for the project to be done, but there would be conditions they Rehab Center would have to meet. The center must use the funds for remodeling; it must make timely payments on the loan and interest; the center would have a levy reduction of $800,000 and that would be applied to the general fund; the levy rate for the center would not be increased beyond that amount during the term of the loan; their deficit cannot exceed the amount established at the end of last year; and if the center fails any of those items, the Finance Committee would decide what to do with the center that’s in the best interest of the county.
