Neillsville School Board Hears Report on AGR Program
Wednesday, February 22nd, 2017 -- 10:13 AM
-The Neillsville School Board heard a report on the AGR Program at their meeting on Monday. The AGR Report, or Achievement Gap Reduction, replaces the old SAGE program. A new state law requires school boards to receive a report every semester on what’s being done to reduce gaps in grades K-3rd. This helps the district keep smaller class sizes and keep students at the grade level they’re supposed to be. The report includes strengths and weaknesses of students and indicates if students are scoring in the correct age or grade. So far, the district is seeing growth and this information has become a valuable tool for teachers and the district.
In employment matters the board approved the resignation of Chris Poeschel from his head football coaching position, Duane King from his assistant high school football coaching position and Ryan Dillenbeck from his middle school football coaching position. The board then approved the hiring of Rebecca Boehning for a middle school softball coaching position, Melissa Strangfeld for a middle school track coaching position and Duane King for a high school assistant track coaching position.
