Employment Matters at Owen-Withee School Board Meeting

-The Owen-Withee School Board discussed employment matters at their meeting last week.The board approved the retirement of Bill Nyre. After much discussion about denying the request for retirement for Bill Nyre, the board begrudgingly approved this request and thanked Bill for his tremendous service to the District. The board approved the resignation of Darren Ovyn from the Junior High Boys basketball position and thanked him for his many years of service in this role. Finally, the board approved hiring Ann Harlander-Fitz to the assistant track coach position.
The board tabled any discussion about make up days until a third day is realized. The day missed due to a power failure in January will be treated as the second snow day of the year. If a third day occurs, the board will discuss how to handle it. Finally, the board reviewed and discussed the CESA 10 contract for 2017-18. The 2017-18 estimated contract is roughly $2000 less than that current estimated contract.
