Black River Falls Woman Sentenced for 7th OWI

Tuesday, February 21st, 2017 -- 10:32 AM

-A Black River Falls woman arrested for her 7th OWI was sentenced in Jackson County Court on Monday.

Suzie Coffey was driving on a recreational trail in the Town of Brockway back in August. She was pulled over by a sheriff’s deputy and Coffey told the deputy that she was trying to get off the main road so her passenger could use the bathroom. Coffey admitted to drinking alcohol earlier in the evening, but refused to take a field sobriety test. She was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail.

During her appearance on Monday, she was found guilty of, due to a due contest plea, 7th OWI. Another charge of operating with a PAC 7th Offense was dismissed on the prosecutor’s motion. She was sentenced to 3 years in prison and 3 years of extended supervision. Her license was also revoked for 2 years and she has to have an ignition interlock device for 2 years.
