Short Agenda, Long Meeting at Clark County Board of Supervisors Meeting
Tuesday, February 21st, 2017 -- 10:31 AM
-The Clark County Board of Supervisors had a short agenda, but a lot to discuss at their meeting on Monday.First, the board approved appointments to the IT Steering Committee and the ADRC Governing Board. They also approved the 2nd reading of the Internal Management of Code of Ordinances for Clark County. This ordinance turns over the control of managing the county’s ordinances to the county instead of using a third party which normally costs the county around $18,000 per year. They also heard a presentation from a member of 4-H that attended the Presidential Inauguration in January. The board also approved a resolution to purchase land from the DNR to enroll into county forest land.
In the previous state budget, the Wisconsin DNR was required to sell a certain number of acres. The land they’ll be selling to the county is the Dickenson Creek Fisheries property located off of Dickerson Avenue and its right next to county forest land already. The cost will come to $42,000 for the 80 acres with the DNR cutting timber as a part of the deal. The Forestry and Parks Department estimates that even after the DNR’s cutting, there would still be $107,000 worth of timber for the county to cut. This land will be purchased with money in the land acquisition fund.
