The Neillsville City Council heard the committee reports at their meeting on Tuesday.The heard the report from the Police and Fire Commission meeting held on February 2nd. At this meeting, the commission gave permission to Neillsville’s police chief to extend an offer of employment to a qualified candidate. They also heard the report from the Airport Commission meeting held on February 7th. The commission denied a request to build a communication tower near the airport due to a hazard for planes landing or taking off. At the Commission on Economic Development meeting held on February 8th, the commission approved a request from the Connect Communities group for their Small Business Academy. They also discussed the guidelines for Economic Development grants.
During the Heritage Days Committee meeting held on February 8th, they hear an update on Miss Neillsville, food vendors, bands, games and activities, the Neillsville Chamber’s involvement and more. Finally, during a Beautification Committee meeting held on February 9th, the discussed the 2017 spring plants, different sponsor levels for different times of year and more
