Loyal Man Charged for Snowmobile Accident

-A Loyal man has been charged for a snowmobile accident that resulted in the death of his passenger.According to the Clark County Sheriff’s Department, on Sunday February 12th they received a 911 call of a snowmobile accident located north east of Catlin Ave/STH 98 in the Township of Sherman. 46-year-old Steven Lauenstein lost control of his snowmobile when they entered a wooded area and his passenger, 34-year-old Robert Kurz, was ejected and died from his injuries.
Lauenstein has been charged with three counts including homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle. The sheriff’s department stated that speed and alcohol appeared to be factors in the accident. Sunday’s accident was the second snowmobile fatality for Clark County in 2017.
