Joint CESA/CVTC Event Sees Great Turnout

-The joint CESA/CVTC event Friday, Feb. 10 brought over 800 teachers and other education professionals from 18 school districts to CVTC for a rare opportunity to learn together and network with people they seldom see.Local school districts participating included Colby, Granton, Greenwood, Loyal Medford, Neillsville, Osseo-Fairchild and Owen-Withee. The theme for the event was “Capitalizing on the Opportunity to Engage Learners.” The keynote speaker was Kevin Honeycutt. Keys heard Honeycutt at a Wisconsin Association of School Boards convention two years ago and wanted to arrange a way for his fellow educators to hear him, too. So Keys approached Deb Walsh, who heads CVTC’s professional development office, and Mike Haynes, CESA 10 administrator, about creating a new event. They made it happen.
