January Class III Milk Price Released

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -The USDA announced that the January Class III milk price was released at $16.77 per hundredweight.That's down 63-cents from December's price, but $3.05 above January 2016. During the past year, the Class III price has averaged $14.87 in 2016. Class IV component price was $1.22 more than last month's price at $16.19, and was $2.88 more than January of last year.
Meanwhile, the USDA reported that Wisconsin farmers received an average price of $19.70 per hundredweight for their milk in December, about $1.00 more than the previous month and $2.40 better than the same time a year earlier. The U.S. milk price for December was $18.80 per cwt.
