Latest USDA Agricultural Prices Report

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -The average price received by farmers for corn in Wisconsin during December was $3.16 per bushel, up a nickel from the previous month.

That's according to the latest USDA Agricultural Prices report, which noted that the corn price did average 25-cents lower from the same month in 2015. Soybean prices in December average $9.49 per bushel, up 18-cents from November and $1.05 above the previous December. Oats were $1.93 per bushel, about two-cents more than in November and just three-cents above year-ago levels.

All hay prices in Wisconsin averaged $88.00 per ton in December, down $6.00 from November and $5.00 below late 2015. The alfalfa hay price was $94.00 per ton, down $6.00 for the month and off $4.00 for the year. The other hay price averaged $67.00, down $3.00 from November and $1.00 below the December 2015 price.
