Employment Matters and Administrators' Reports at Neillsville School Board Meeting

-The Neillsville School Board discussed employment matters at their meeting on Monday.

The board approved the resignation of Carrie Schmidt from her middle school softball coaching position and Mike Pekol from his high school assistant track coaching position. They also approved the retirement of Dean Hinkelmann from his custodian position at the end of this month and the request from Jan Shilts to substitute sick leave for unpaid leave. The board also heard the Administrators’ Reports. Elementary Principal Tim Rueth reported on attendance, the spring music concerts, January 20th being the end of second quarter and there was no school, the winter season, a trapping demonstration for the 4th grade held on January 12th, benchmark testing and STAR assessments in January and summer school classes information.

High School Principal Craig Anderson reported on attendance, scheduling updates, a High Quiz Bowl update, an FFA update, middle school week and March 8th being the Academic Letter Presentation. Finally, District Administrator John Gaier reported on three thank you cards, a picture from Governor Walker’s listening session, the AEF’s annual membership meeting, School Administrators Alliance questions for the state superintendent candidates and three Focus articles.
