Granton Village Board Discusses WRS Retirement Benefit

-The Granton Village Board heard an update on the WRS Retirement Benefit at their meeting last week.According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, the board budgeted $30,000 for the WRS error discovered as an oversight of not signing up eligible employees. The final cost to the village was $17,855.37 leaving $12,144.63. The board discussed amending the budget to pay for the cost of the patrolman’s laptop and then creating a contingency fund with the remaining balance. The board also discussed Fall Fest and they’ll look into working with the Softball Association next year and doing another raffle with proceeds going to updating the concession stand and announcer stand. Instead of raffling a cabin the board discussed raffling a couple of utility sheds, chicken coup, kids play house, etc.
They also discussed their 2017 game plan for the city including several projects they’d like to do. Finally, the cost of a website was discussed. The cost to have your own Web and Domain site is $2.95 per month for the domain name.
