Summer School Pay Incentive at Owen-Withee School Board Meeting

-The Owen-Withee School Board discussed a summer school pay incentive at their meeting last week.This would have seen a pay incentive for the district teachers who work the extra weeks. This item was tabled until the February Meeting until the 2017-18 calendar can be approved and possible changes to the summer school program can be confirmed. Finally, due to a conflict with a girls’ basketball game on the second Monday of February, the board voted to move the regular February Board Meeting to Wednesday, February 15th at 7:00 PM.
The board also heard the Administrators’ Reports. Elementary Principal Lance Batchelor reported on the Angel Tree project and thanked Mrs. Korn for organizing the event and all the people and organizations who donated gifts to make Christmas a little brighter for some of their students. He also reported on the geography bee that is going on during the month of January and the winter literacy assessments. Star Lab will be in the elementary IMC the week of January 19th-24th and the Accelerated Reader winter outing will be held on January 26th at Perkinstown.
