Cancer Clear and Simple Workshop, Part 3

-The Clark County UW-Extension and Clark County HCE are holding a “Cancer Clear and Simple” workshop on Tuesday, January 24th.The workshop is being held at the Clark County Courthouse, in the auditorium, from 10am-12pm. I spoke with Nancy Vance, the Family Living Agent, and Melissa Kono, the county CNRED Agent, about the workshop. Nancy and Melissa explained what they hope people will take away from the seminar.
Nancy: "The whole community is invited. Anybody can come. We'd like you to preregister if possible just so we have an idea of how many people will be here. We'd love to see anybody who's interested in learning more about cancer basics to come."
Melissa: "There is no cost, but it would be helpful if they called our office just to register. But, even if they don't do that, they're still welcome."
Nancy: "I think one of the main take aways in the importance of screening and being aware of how your lifestyle choices can impact you. There can be a lot of optimism with a cancer diagnosis. It doesn't have to end badly. There's wonderful research taking place making it a disease you can fight."
Coming up on Wednesday, Nancy and Melissa will talk about rural health disparities.
