Federal Assistance Available for Homes and Businesses Damaged in September Floods

-Financial assistance for damage caused by flooding in September of last year is available in some part of the region.

Residences and businesses in Chippewa and Clark Counties, as well as other counties which were part of federal disaster declaration FEMA DR 4288 may be eligible for help from the Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) Disaster Relief Program. Households or businesses affected by 2016 disaster events may apply to the Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) Disaster Relief Program. Individual households and businesses in all counties included in the July (FEMA 4276) and September (FEMA 4288) disaster declarations in Wisconsin are eligible to apply.

Households can contact their local FHLB financial institution directly to apply for disaster recovery assistance. Member institutions include Abby Bank, Abbotsford; Citizen's State Bank of Loyal; Northwestern Bank, Chippewa Falls; Citizens State Bank, Cadott; Royal Credit Union, Eau Claire; Charter Bank, Eau Claire; and Heritage Bank, Spencer; among others.
