Public Works Report at Neillsville City Council Meeting

Wednesday, January 11th, 2017 -- 10:12 AM

-It was a quiet night for the Neillsville City Council during their meeting on Tuesday.

The council heard the Public Works Report. The usual amount of work was done in the city including cemetery and parks maintenance, equipment maintenance, trimming and pruning trees, hauling brush and compost, snow and ice removal and more. The Public Works Director also reminded residents to shovel their sidewalks within 24 hours after the snow stops or they will clean them and bill you accordingly. The bar screen at the sewer plant is also being repaired.

The council also heard the Connect Communities Committee report from January 5th. The committee decided to hold their Small Business Academy classes on Wednesday evenings beginning March 8th and running until April 5th. The cost will be $15 per class or $50 for all five. They’ll request $1,200 from the City of Neillsville Economic Development Commission to cover the cost. It was also stated that the Downtown Revolution signs are completed and ready to be put in empty downtown buildings.
