-Two people arrested after a high speed chase north of Spencer appear in Clark County Court on Thursday. On Christmas Eve, the Loyal Police Department attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding, but the operator refused to stop and began a high speed chase with the officer. The Clark County Sheriff’s Department then assisted with the chase. The chase ended after the vehicle hit another vehicle on Highway 13 north of Spencer. At that time, the driver, 45-Eric Sutton, surrendered. His passenger, 28-year-old Brittany Sather, ran when the car stopped, but was located a short while later.
Both Sutton and Sather are facing multiple charges including possession, carrying a concealed weapon, OWI, eluding an officer and more. They both appeared in Clark County Court for an initial appearance on Thursday. Sutton will be back in court next week for a preliminary hearing. Sather stood mute in court so a not guilty plea was entered to the charges against her on her behalf. She’ll be back in court at the end of the month.
