Freezing Rain - Be Careful Out There!

Mother Nature has sent the area an interesting Christmas present. Overnight temperature fell just below freezing and the light drizzle and fog have left some roads and untreated surfaces with a glaze of ice. The Wisconsin DOT reports several roadways in the central portion of the state as ice covered or having slippery conditions. If you’re headed out this morning be careful and alert for the possibility of icy patches and changing conditions. A Freezing rain advisory goes into effect at 9 AM today. Precipitation is expected to pick up in intensity later this morning.Rain is likely this afternoon and it will become very breezy as well. Wind gusts could reach 40 mph later today. Temperatures will begin to fall overnight as the winds will usher in colder air for Monday.
The freezing rain has cancelled services at Living Hope Church in Neillsville today.
