Neillsville School Board Hears December Administrators’ Reports

The Neillsville School Board heard the Administrators’ Reports at their meeting on Monday.

Elementary Principal Tim Rueth reported on attendance, the music concerts, Christmas break being December 26th-January 2nd, the 5th graders went bowling on Friday and benchmark testing in January.

High School Principal Craig Anderson reported on attendance, a news article, the Schuster Park lights, the winter choral concert, the winter band concert and the Dorian Music Festival January 15th-17th. He also reported on the Cloverbelt All-Conference Honors for band and choir on
January 21st, concert and show choir performances and the 2016-17 school year scheduling.

District Administrator John Gaier reported on two thank you cards, a Business After 5 reminder, the Neillsville Area Chamber of Commerce recognition dinner, the Transitions Program, an article on supporting public schools, an article about the school voucher program, an article about the new Secretary of Education, two Focus articles, the WASB Convention and legal webinars and an email regarding sports attendance fees. He also reported on an email regarding the holiday giving tree, an article on Finland’s education system, a draft of the 2017-18 school calendar, an article proposing random drug testing, updates from Willis Towers Watson on the DOL’s overtime rule and ACA information returns, an article on the 2016 election’s effect on the ACA and a New York Times article on how spending impacts education.
