Neillsville School Board Reviews District Report Card

-The Neillsville School Board reviewed the district’s report card at their meeting on Monday.

The district scored well on the report card. The high school, which includes 7th-12th grade, scored a 63.7, which meets expectations. The elementary school scored a 73.2, which exceeds expectations. Overall, the district scored a 68 which meets expectations. Four priority areas are looked at when it comes to the report card and they are student achievement, students growth, closing gaps and on-track and postsecondary readiness.

In the first three of those, scores on English language arts achievement and mathematics achievement are looked at. In the final category, it looks at graduation rate, attendance rate, 3rd grade English language achievement and 8th grade mathematic achievement. Overall, the district scored right in line with the state scores, give or take a few points. District Administrator John Gaier also went over what the district focuses on in order to make sure their students are college, career and life ready.
