More Americans Traveling this Holiday Season

(CNN) -More Americans than ever before will travel to see loved ones this holiday season.AAA Travel projects 103-million people will hit the roads or fly the friendly skies between December 23 and January 2. That's a 1.5% more people traveling this year than last, for a record-breaking year-end. The majority -- nearly 94-million -- will be hitting the roads.
Airlines are also expecting to see a boost-- with some 45-million set to travel through airports across the country. This is the eighth straight year for holiday travel growth. AAA Travel believes lower gas prices and increased optimism about the economy are spurring the uptick.
