Administrators' Reports at Greenwood School Board Meeting

-The Greenwood School Board heard the Administrators’ Reports at their meeting on Monday.District Administrator Todd Felhofer stated that the nominee for the US Department of Education is a very strong advocate of private school choice and vouchers, FLSA changes that were set to go into effect on December 1st were halted by judicial action and the fate of the changes is uncertain and the state budget discussion will begin heating up after the holidays. He also stated the monthly cost of phone service is down over 50% since switching phone systems, the District will provide Title 1 services to St. Mary’s and an agreement was recently developed, the District Food Service program went through a complete audit December 13th-15th and the 2nd Friday Enrollment Count is January 13th.
High School Principal Todd Fisher provided a written update highlighting the on-going Math Curriculum work, recent Elementary staff collaboration focused on analyzing math resources, Student Council work, and holiday events including concerts and Santa visits. Finally, the board heard a committee report. The Employee Relations Committee broke into two smaller sub-committees to begin discussions on school calendar, in-service and collaboration time, compensation structures, teacher retention, mentoring, etc.; discussions have been very positive.
