Owen-Withee School Board Hears Update on Facilities Audit Report and Act 32 Projects

-The Owen-Withee School Board heard an update on the Facilities Audit Report and Act 32 projects.On Tuesday, November 29th Complete Control, the performance contractor for the Act 32 projects, conducted a meeting of the district and four roofing contractors who have been invited to bid on the reroof project. Contractors toured the roof after the meeting. Bids for the project, that is to be completed in the summer of 2017, were due to Complete Control by noon on December 13th.
The board also heard an update on the LED re-lamp project. Due to different light fixtures in the high school and the elementary, two different bulbs were purchased for the project. The high school bulbs are at the district and are being installed. The bulbs for the elementary shipped this week. The LED bulbs that are being used to replace the fluorescent bulbs are brighter, so they are trying to reduce the number of bulbs going back into the fixtures. Currently, ½ of the bulbs are being replaced. The project has the relighting ability up to ¾ of the current bulbs, so if replacing ½ of the bulbs results in too low of light in an area, adjustments can be made. The intent is to have the project completed before Christmas break.
