Marshfield School Board Votes on Tuition Rate for Marshfield International Student Exchange Program

(Mike Warren, WDLB) ??"The Marshfield school board voted in favor of next year's tuition rate for the Marshfield International Student Exchange Program, where students from China spend a year going to school in Marshfield.The annual tuition rate was set at 25-thousand-700 dollars per student. Board Member Amber Kiggens-Leifheit said the tuition rate is about average when compared to other similar programs. Board member Frances Bohon says the program continues to grow, and China would send as many students as Marshfield could find housing for.
Also last night, the board set the monthly reimbursement rate for someone hosting a Chinese student at 900-dollars per month. More information about the program, as well as the host family application, can be found on the school district's website. A Chinese delegation was in Marshfield Thursday to tour the city and its schools.
