Greenwood School Board Discusses Insurance at their Recent Meeting

-The Greenwood School Board discussed insurance matters at their meeting on Monday.The board discussed increasing umbrella liability coverage, but more information was requested on this suggested increase, so it will be reconsidered at the January meeting. The board also reviewed and discussed the 2015-16 District Report Card. Concerns were also raised about air quality near the west gym. However, CESA 10 conducted air quality tests and found no concerns.
The board also discussed WASB Delegate directions, which will be reviewed at the January meeting as will the edits to a section of the co-curricular code to simplify language and provide consistency. There was also a review of new background check process. There is a consideration of a 3-year cycle for background checks. The board requested information regarding “spot checks” within the 3-year cycle, so that item will be reconsidered at the January meeting. Finally, the board conducted a Second reading of the 8000 and 9000 series of policies and approved both.
