Thorp Man Charged with Hitting Bicyclists Appears in Clark County Court

Tuesday, December 13th, 2016 -- 11:24 AM

-A Thorp man charged with hitting two bicyclists appeared in Clark County Court on Monday.

In the early morning hours of September 25th, deputies from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office responded to a hit and run crash in which 2 bicyclists were struck by a motor vehicle on STH 29 near Gorman Ave in the town of Withee. Upon arrival, deputies discovered two 19 year old males lying in the ditch. It was learned that both bicyclists were struck by a vehicle. That same morning a Greenwood Police officer stopped a truck, driven by Scott Horn of rural Thorp, for a defective headlight. Scott’s vehicle also had front end damage from a recent accident. Scott’s speech was slurred and there was an odor of an intoxicant coming from his breath.

Scott performed field sobriety exercises but failed and submitted to a PBT, which indicated .10. Scott has multiple charges filed against him including hit and run, injury by intoxicated use of a vehicle, operating with a PAC and more. During his preliminary hearing on Monday, probable cause was found, so his court proceedings will continue. He’ll be back in court later this month.
