Nation Looking at New Options for Protection Against Hackers

(AP) -You know how we are urged to read the nutritional labels on the foods we buy -- to make sure they're good for us?There's a recommendation afoot to have a similar type of label on websites -- to make sure they keep our computers and other information safe from hackers. It's one of the recommendations from a presidential commission. The panel has made 16 urgent suggestions to boost the nation's cybersecurity.
One of them is to help consumers judge products using an independent nutritional-type label for technology products and other services. Another recommendation is to do away with the traditional type of passwords used. Many of them are vulnerable because they are too predictable and can be easily figured out by bad guys.
