Memorial Medical Center's New Facility Project Update, Final

Thursday, December 8th, 2016 -- 11:35 AM

-Memorial Medical Center’s new facility project is continuing on with excellent progress.

I spoke with Memorial Medical Center’s CEO Ryan Neville and he answered some frequently asked questions that have popped up since the announcement of the new facility. One of those being, do you know what's going to happen with the old facility.

"Not yet. We do have some time to start to identify potential suitors for the building. I think this is a great facility. It's definitely well kept. And we're hoping that somebody will find an interest in this to better the economy of Neillsville. We've had a few preliminary talks with a few interested parties. All very exciting; however, they've asked not to be revealed at this time as they are still seeing how feasible it is for them. I'm very excited for a new opportunity for the economy."

He also explained what’s going to happen with the loan acquired by MMC through the City of Neillsville.

"Our current debt that we have to do our internal renovations is on hold. So, we currently have 80% of that loan still sitting in the bank. Part of the USDA Loan Process is we're allowed to refinance all of our current debt. So, as we successfully receive this loan, we will then pay off all our debt, including the loan that the city assisted us to receive. By first or second quarter, probably second quarter of 2017, all those debts will be forgiven."

A new feature will be coming to our website that will help keep the community updated on the progress of the facility and help answer any questions you may have. We will also have a new commercial running that will have answers and updates as well. If you have any questions on the facility, you may submit them to me here at WCCN and I will get them answered for you.
