Administrators' Reports at Owen-Withee School Board Meeting

-The Owen-Withee School Board heard the Administrators’ Reports at their meeting last week.

Elementary Principal Lance Batchelor discussed 1st quarter report cards going home, the elementary food drive that started on Nov. 1 and will run through today and is sponsored by the Action Club. Many activities and dress up days were held for American Education Week November 14th-18th. PBIS celebration day was held on November 18th and the elementary RtI/PLC Leadership team will meet on November 28th to finalize data decisions regarding placement of student in intervention groups. Jr/Sr High School Dean of Students Julie VanArk discussed 1st quarter report cards and the One-Act Play at state. The state send-off was Wednesday, November 16th during home room.

She also stated that on Wednesday, the FBLA sponsored a Miracle Minute where students and staff were asked to donate their pocket change to the March of Dimes. Winter sports have all started now and the second round of parent/teacher conferences will be held on Monday, December 5. Finally, District Administrator Bob Houts reminded the board about a breakfast held Wednesday in honor of American Education Week and the retirement of Bob Zaidel after serving 37 years in the district as a custodian. On Monday, November 14th the elementary and high school ran a lock down drill practicing both non-emergency and emergency lock downs. Mr. Houts commended both principals for how well prepared their staffs were in dealing with the drills, the staff for how organized and well controlled their classes were and the students for their cooperation and behavior during the drill.
