Owen-Withee School Board Summary

The Owen-Withee School Board approved changing the start time of their December meeting.On a voice vote, the board voted to move the start time of the December 12th meeting to 5:30 PM to avoid a conflict with the Elementary Christmas Concert being held the same evening at 7:00 PM. They also approved a resignation. Due to a conflict with her school work to pursue a degree in social work, Shayla Gulcynski has tendered her resignation from her aide position. On a voice vote, the Board approved her resignation and thanks her for the terrific work she has done. On a voice vote, the board also approved a 2% increase to the co-curricular pay scale that has not been increased since 2012. Total cost of the increase will be $1,495.
The board discussed the hiring of a maintenance person. Due to a scheduling conflict, the process to replace Bob Zaidel on the maintenance staff has been delayed. A replacement will be hired in the next week or so and the name will be brought forward for board approval at the December meeting. Finally, Mr. Houts reminded the board that the Wisconsin Association of School Boards’ Annual State Convention is January 18-20, in Milwaukee.
