Country Treasures in Granton Holds Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

-Country Treasures in Granton celebrated their opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday.Michelle Baxter, the owner, explained that she and her family moved to Granton and built a home and they were looking for a small business. In 2006, the opened the Farmer’s Pantry and expanded to several location throughout the county. In 2013, the sold the business and the Farmer’s Pantry continued to run out of the building located on Highway 10 just outside of Granton off the curve. The people renting the building and running the Farmer’s Pantry moved out and the Baxter’s were trying to decide what to do with the old building.
After getting some inspirations from other small town shops, they opened up Country Treasures in May of this year. The store acts as a vendor mall for people to come and display their crafts, while the Baxter’s maintain the business. Michelle said it’s a great way for crafters to try and sell there items as they would be too business to do so normally. They have many different items and they are looking into expanding into more of their building. They have a wide variety of items to choose from.
